Setting up Microsoft Outlook Express
We have prepared these guidelines to help you set up your Outlook Express mail program to work with the tbData mail servers.
- Click on the 'Tools' menu
- Select 'Accounts'
- Choose the 'Mail' tab
- Click on the email account - to highlight it
- Click on the Properties button
- Select the 'Servers' tab.
- Set your incoming mail server to "pop.<domain-name>".
- Set your outgoing mail server to "smtp.<domain-name>".
- Check your username and password are entered correctly. Please Note: username should use lowercase letters.
This should suffice, but just to be sure ...
- Click on the 'Settings' button
- Put a tick in the box marked "My server requires authentication".
In the 'Outgoing Mail Server' window, ensure that the option marked "Use same settings as my incoming mail server" is selected.
Click OK on all windows to accept the changes, then close the 'accounts' window.
That's it - Outlook Express is now ready to use your mail account.
