Equal Opportunities

Discrimination

It is the policy of tbData that all eligible persons shall have equal opportunity for work on the basis of their ability and fitness for work. There is no discrimination based on sex, sexual orientation, race, religion or physical disability against any eligible person.

The reputation of tbData is based on the professionalism, dedication and commitment of its associates. Our policy is aggressively non-discriminatory, and favours ability over qualifications. tbData needs to ensure that associates are able to maintain the highest standards in their work and are free from harassment of any kind.

tbData aims to be successful without being evil. In part, this means that all associates will ensure that all their contacts both within tbData and external are treated with respect and dignity.

tbData will not tolerate aggressive, abusive or discriminatory language or behaviour to or from associates, suppliers, customers or any other contact. In the event that normal relations cannot be resumed then all contracts (and contact) with the perpetrator will be terminated insofar as is allowed by relevant legislation.

At tbData we have contacts with associates, customers and suppliers from many countries and cultures. Misunderstandings are inevitable. tbData aims to find resolution to any such issues as soon as is practical within the constraints imposed by differences in time zone, culture and language.

tbData has not and will not operate any 'so called' positive discrimination policy.

It is illegal (in the UK) to discriminate against people at work because of their gender, disability, marital status or racial origin. Discrimination means treating a person less favourably than you would another person in the same circumstances. The equal opportunities policy at tbData is based on the Sex Discrimination Acts of 1975 and 1986, the Race Relations Act of 1976, the Disabled Persons (Employment) Act of 1944 and the Disability Discrimination Act of 1995.

There will also be no discrimination on account of sexual orientation (e.g. straights, gays, lesbians or bisexuals).

Under the 1995 Disability Discrimination Act, it is illegal to treat anyone with a disability less favourably than others because of their disability. tbData is committed to offering people with disabilities their full share of opportunities and responsibilities.

tbData aims to work to the spirit of anti-discrimination legislation, not just the letter of the law. All associates have a duty to conduct themselves with honour and integrity and to ensure that all colleagues and other contacts are treated with respect and dignity. Discrimination, harassment or victimisation must not be permitted or condoned.

Information on ethnic origin, sex and disability of associates, customers and suppliers will only be collected and disclosed where required by legislation.

What does all that mean?

Be nice or simply: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." (after Matthew 7:12)

There are people that have forgotten how to behave. At tbData we acknowledge this. We know we can't change the world on our own, but each of us can make a difference. In summary...

If something bad happens to you in the course of your contact with tbData, please get in touch. Don't put up with it.
